Taste of Palestine

The name is the dish.

A round of dough, baked to order in a hot oven and topped simply. In Palestine it is part of everyday life: shared with family in the morning, and with friends through the rest of the day.

One thing, done properly

Al Manakeesh is named after its own dish. The menu is built around one thing done properly: a ten-inch round of fresh dough, baked in a hot oven the moment you order, and topped simply.

Za'atar and olive oil. Akkawi cheese. Labneh. Egg. Halal ground beef. Then kaak, the eight-inch sesame ring, split and filled like a sandwich. And beside the oven, a full coffee bar.

Al Manakeesh, Taste of Palestine, already bakes in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and New Jersey. The Minnesota location brings the same oven, the same recipes and the same welcome to the Twin Cities.

Their illustrated world

Olive, dove, keffiyeh.

Olive branches. Watermelon. A wooden boat whose sail is a keffiyeh. A dove carrying an olive sprig. Wheat, stacked kaak and a stone village of arched doorways above blue water. That is the world Al Manakeesh draws itself in.

Ten-inch rounds of fresh dough, into a hot oven the moment you order and out to you.
